OBSTETRIC ULTRASOUNDS
1st Trimester

MUST BE DONE between 11 weeks and 14 weeks
Please provide patient with a filled-out laboratory requisition for First Trimester Prenatal Risk Assessment (find above) or fax it to us along with the ultrasound requisition.

2nd Trimester
Cervix, placenta, amniotic fluid
At 19 to 21 weeks, we will do a full assessment of fetal anatomy.

Any fetal anatomy that is visible.

Biophysical Profile scoring
CARDIOVASCULAR ULTRASOUNDS
Echocardiography
Complete assessment of heart function, chambers, valves, great vessels, and surrounding area
Peripheral Arterial
Upper extremity: assessment of arteries from the lower neck to the wrist.
Lower extremity: assessment of arteries from distal abdominal aorta to the ankle and Ankle-Brachial Index.
Peripheral Venous
Upper extremity: assessment of veins from the lower neck to the antecubital fossa. If the area of concern is in the forearm, those veins will be assessed if they are visible sonographically.
Lower extremity: assessment of veins from the distal IVC to the knee. If the area of concern is in the calf, those veins will be assessed if they are visible sonographically.
Carotid
Assessment of common carotid, internal carotid, external carotid, vertebral, and proximal subclavian arteries.
PEDIATRIC ULTRASOUNDS
Neonatal Cranial
Assessment of the brain structures through the anterior, posterior, sphenoid and mastoid fontanelles
Pediatric Spine
Assessment of the vertebrae and spinal cord.
Pediatric Echocardiogram
**At this time we are only able to perform pediatric echocardiograms on patients 5 years of age and older.
Complete assessment of heart morphology, heart function, chambers, valves, coronary artery branching, pulmonary veins, great vessels, and surrounding area.
